Student Well Being
Student Well-Being @ PCPS
Think Better, Feel Better, Do Better
At PCPS, student well-being is anchored by four key domains (Psychological, Cognitive, Physical and Social) and these domains form the foundation of effective learning and personal growth.

1. |
(P) Psychological Well-Being We prioritise our students' psychological well-being through a range of programmes and initiatives that support their mental and emotional health. At PCPS, dedicated time is set aside on Wellness Fridays for students to focus on their well-being. Daily Mindful Start sessions and Mindful Breathing exercises equip students with practical coping strategies and self-regulation skills. Students are also introduced to the Zones of Regulation and this enables them to better identify, understand and manage their emotions. In addition, our Study Camps provide students with a supportive environment that balances academic focus with stress management techniques.

(C) Cognitive Well-Being Supporting our students' intellectual growth and learning capabilities is central to their cognitive well-being. At PCPS, we adopt differentiated learning approaches that cater to different learning styles and readiness levels, ensuring students are supported in reaching their potential. Our Cove Quest is a school-based initiative that recognises and affirms students for their efforts in learning and demonstration of positive behaviours, fostering a growth mindset and motivation to excel. Our COR3 assemblies and dedicated Cohort Time are intentional platforms for values education and the development of positive learning dispositions.

(P) Physical Well-Being At PCPS, we advocate leading healthy lifestyles through Physical Education lessons, where students learn about fitness and nutrition and are encouraged to exercise regularly. Our Start It Right & Well Transition Programme helps students adapt to school life, while Grow Well Bingo encourages students to engage in wellness activities through gamification. Mindful Transition sessions are also conducted to support students in managing their energy during the change of lessons. Health Education lessons include dedicated modules on Healthy Eating and Screen Time, guiding students to make informed choices about nutrition and digital wellness. Additionally, the Life Skills Module equips students with practical knowledge for daily living, personal care and self-management.

(S) Social Well-Being Building strong relationships and social skills is another key approach to promote student well-being. #pcpskindnessvibe is another school-based initiative that fosters kindness and positivity in the school community. Our Mindful Series features regular Mindful Talks that develop students’ emotional awareness and mindfulness techniques. Termly Class Bonding activities strengthen peer relationships while Wellness Fridays provide dedicated time for students to learn alongside their peers. The Eco-Clean Classrooms programme emphasises the importance of maintaining healthy learning environments and instils values such as responsibility and empathy, as well as strengthens communication skills in our students. Complementing these efforts is our Peer Support and Leaders Programme, where trained Peer Support Leaders offer guidance, encouragement and friendship to their peers. In addition, training in skills such as peer mediation also allows our students to learn to resolve disputes and conflicts peacefully.

These four domains work together to support our students in their daily school life. Research shows that students are better positioned to thrive academically and personally when they feel psychologically secure, cognitively engaged, physically healthy and socially connected.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff collaborates closely to monitor student progress across the various domains. We maintain open communication with parents and families, recognising that student well-being is a shared responsibility between home and school.
Through this holistic approach, PCPS creates an environment where every student can think better, feel better and do better.
